To create a sanctuary to focus on their creative pursuits, this artist and musician couple added a casita and outdoor pool and spa to their Todos Santos getaway.
The casita features a ceramics & painting studio, outdoor kiln, music recording studio, and guest bedrooms with views that overlook the Pacific. The outdoor area has a pool and spa tucked into natural landscaping, with a temazcal, outdoor shower and gathering space.
The casita is built in rammed earth and plastered block, mixing the raw earth with bright pink and muted yellow, while the temazcal and site wall are done in brick to match existing elements. Shade structures line the pool area and roof patios using natural Pergola Palo de Arco roofs.
Overall, the forms blend minimalist modern elements with softer, Spanish influenced forms to make up a home that is comfortable, subtle and elegant, inspiring creativity, wellness and introspection.
