Hale Maka or ‘The House That Sees’ looks down the valley, over the jungle to the surf of Maui’s North Shore. This house opens up to the view on one side while hunkering down to shelter from the prevailing winds on the other. Large glass doors open the great room to the lanai and pool, where you enjoy the island’s beauty under the cantilevered roof.
Private guest suites are accessed by a walk down the boardwalk through the gardens. A large harvest room and studio connects the wings to the vegetable patches and fruit orchards behind the house, and the oversized mudroom gives plenty of space for waxing surfboards and bike maintenance.
