Architecture as art, as sculpture, as culture. Pachacamac truly grows from the landscape. All building materials were harvested from within the hillside it is now part of. Materiality draws forth from the earth, transitioning from rough, uncut stones to smooth polished concrete as one traverses deeper into the residence.
Designed In Partnership with Luis Longhi, Longhi Architects, for a philosopher — and as a homage to his intellect — the wings of this home reach east and west, responding to the sun’s daily path and honoring Peru’s vibrant mythology. As the program of the house unfolds and involves more people, it becomes light and gradually more open, culminating in a glass-cube living room to gather guests.
