Located beneath Jackson Hole’s world-renowned Million Dollar Cowboy Bar is another iconic Jackson staple: the Million Dollar Cowboy Steakhouse. When approached by our Client with the possibility of renovating the 106-seat space, our team of local designers was thrilled by the opportunity to preserve part of Wyoming’s history while elevating the dining atmosphere to create a uniquely Western, modern experience.
The rustic space called for period-appropriate memorabilia to line the walls of each booth. The Cowboy Bar has a long musical history that includes performances by the likes of Hank Williams Jr., Randy Owen, and Willie Nelson. Its heritage as a former gambling destination is deeply rooted in cowboy culture. Preserving elements and inspiration from the Cowboy’s legendary exposed burl wood accents, saddle barstools, brass bar rail, and centerpiece longhorns maintain a connection to this storied past. When coupled with contemporary elements of rich spruce hues, diagonal hardwood floors, pink chairs, and a poker-inspired bar top with local brands, the resulting design is provocative and bold. The Steakhouse maintains its kinship with the bar above by preserving shared historic elements but sets itself apart with a sense of playful luxury and sophistication.
